Anthony Chabot, born Antoine Chabot, Aug. 13, 1813, in Quebec to French-Canadian parents, immigrated to the U.S. in 1827 and
California in 1849. Anthony along with his younger brother Remi founded many water companies in the San Francisco Bay Area,
giving Anthony the name "Water King". Anthony died Jan. 6, 1888. His daughter Ellen and brother Remi inherited the bulk of
his estate including the water companies.
